The Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world along the coast. This forest is located at the mouth of the Ganges and Brahmaputra and extends over West Bengal in Bangladesh and India. The Sundarbans was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The total area of the Sundarbans is 10000 sq km. Of this, the area of Bangladesh is about 6,017 sq km. In addition to the famous Royal Bengal Tiger, the forest is also known as home to a wide variety of birds, chitra deer, crocodiles and snakes. Besides, the famous Sundari and Golpata trees are also found in this forest. Lots of honey is collected from the bees made by the bees of this forest and so on and so forth.
