October 11 to November 9. It has been 29 days. When SI (dismissed) Akbar was arrested on Monday afternoon, there were doubts in the minds of the people even before his death. Especially to Raihan's mother Salma Begum and her family members.

But in the end that suspicion is over. This dismissed officer of the police has been caught. A team of district police arrested him on Monday (November 9th) at noon from the Dona area bordering Kanaighat in Sylhet.

According to a source close to the border area, Akbar has been trying to flee since the arrest warrant was issued. In this case, feeling insecure in the country, he used various sources, trying to flee to neighboring India. For this purpose he first crossed the border area. He chose Khasia Palli on the Dona border in Kanaighat, Sylhet. He took shelter in that village.

He changed his costume in Khasia village. Khasias wear clothes. Beaded necklace around the neck. Changes in hair style. The purpose was to cross the border as time-opportunity. But that opportunity was no longer there. Because there was strict surveillance. As a result, he had to stay in Khasia village for some time. At one stage the Khasias assisted in his arrest. They sent him to Bangladesh. Upon receiving the news, the police arrested him.

Donna Border eyewitnesses said Akbar stepped forward and introduced himself to police at the time of his arrest. At that time, her dress was very similar to that of the Khasia villagers. Bead necklaces can also be seen on the neck.

Police have arrested SI (dismissed) Akbar Hossain Bhuna, a fugitive in-charge of Bandarbazar police outpost in Sylhet. He was informed after being arrested by a team of district police from Dona area of Kanaighat border on Monday afternoon that he had been lying in ambush in the border area for so long.

Akbar Hossain is the main accused in the death of a young man named Raihan due to police torture inside the police station. The recent incident sparked huge discussions across the country.

There have been protests and agitations in Sylhet. At one point, Raihan's family gave an ultimatum to arrest SI Akbar, and after the ultimatum was over, they also went on a hunger strike. Finally, after 28 days, Hossain was arrested.

Police say Hossain had been on the run for so long. He was fleeing to India. At one stage, he was arrested from the border area.

Sylhet police SP Nurul Islam told the BBC that police arrested him around 12 noon on Monday. He said he was arrested from the Kanaighat area on the border with India on the basis of earlier information.

"Probably Akbar Hossain was in hibernation in that area."

At the outset of the Raihan murder allegations, six people, including Akbar, were dismissed and withdrawn from the Bandarbazar police outpost on the recommendation of the police investigation committee.

What happened to Raihan?

On October 10, Raihan Ahmed was arrested from the Kastghar area of Sylhet and brought to the Bandarbazar police outpost. Later in the morning, Raihan called his cousin from an unknown number and asked him to come to the police outpost with the money.

When Raihan's father went to the outpost in the morning, he was told to go to the hospital. He can find out the news of Raihan's death by going to the hospital.

On the same night, the victim's wife filed a case against the unidentified accused under the death law in custody at the Kotwali police station in Sylhet.

Since then, ordinary people have started protests, rallies and human chains demanding the arrest and trial of the accused policemen.

Why can't the people of law arrest the members of law enforcement even within 15 days. And people from different walks of life have been complaining about how the main accused Akbar Hossain escaped a day after he testified.

After the incident, Raihan was buried after a one-time autopsy, but the body was later exhumed and a second autopsy was conducted. The autopsy revealed signs of injuries on his body, the agency investigating the case said.

However, in the wake of Raihan Ahmed's death, police initially claimed that he had been beaten and injured by locals on charges of snatching. He was later taken to hospital where he died.

But the incident took a turn for the worse as there were no signs of mass beatings in the CCTV footage.
