I was a simple dreamer
With a curious wishful mind.
All I dreamed was another
Who would love me blind.
This small little testament
was all I seeked for.
To find something permanent
was all I wished for.
I brought out the joyous smiles
Like everyone expected me to.
But I was hostile and hoped
Somebody would see my real feelings too.
Then you came along
With your hard steady walls.
Though even you wanted to belong
To find someone who would give all.
We skirted around here and there
Giving away all we felt.
Soon I had stripped you bare
Of all the secrets you held.
All I wanted was you
To follow me forever.
To where you knew
Would be the greatest place ever.
The one time that you asked
why I always dreamt of loving someone.
You comforted me after I admitted all
And I realised, you were the one.
That night we sinned
And we lay under the covers.
Our bright smiles dimmed
The light of the moon above.
I was the girl and you the the boy
No one could have suspected us.
You were quite while I brought joy
So, how could there be an 'us'?
We broke their expectations
By being together.
But we forgot about the complications
That we should have remembered.
Cause love doesn't work like that
It turns and twists our thoughts.
We hadn't been ready for combat
Cause we had no finality or afterthoughts.
So we lost our minds to Paradise
Too blinded from the sudden light in our eyes.
It was too late when we realised
All of our love, was only lies.
