Kids are wonderful creatures. They are carefree and do things according to how their feeling lead.

A typical child just want to play, eat and sleep. Once any of these is not forthcoming, they become restless and cry until their demands are met.

While this is true, many kids wants to be with their parents, spend time with their mom and dad, go out on a picnic, visit cinema with their parents and many more.

Kids wants their parents to be at their PTA meeting, open day and many other school events. They just want to be like other kids and have fun with their parents.

But these things are like dreams that never become realities for many kids. Some are without both parents. Some have mom while other have just their dad.

For those with both parents, they are mostly lucky with both parents fulfilling their dreams. They get to do most things they wanted with their parents on weekends.

For others, they are either with their mom or dad. If the child is a male but with his mother, he tends to be feminine. He does things that suggests he is mummy pet (like we fondly call them in Nigeria).

If the child is a female but with her dad. She tend to act manly and could turnout to be a tomboy!

Whichever way you look at it, kids hardly get what they expect. For some, they want to go to eatery, cinema and go on a picnic time with their parents.

These are valuable experiences that kids should have. Imagine taking your kids out and they are served, only to embarrass you because they can't eat popular continental food?

For me, i had those dreams but none came through. No one to take me out on a picnic. Had no cinema experience. My eatery experience was a buka (street canteens)!!! Lols!

But as i grow holder, i was able to do these things on my own. Somehow i realised i have really missed.

The experience is vital for me and definitely it is something my kids must have with me. It goes a long way in shaping their dreams and making them feel exposed about certain things.

Importantly, they wont feel lost when their friends are discussing these things because they also have same experience with their parents.

So if you have kids, pay attention to them. They have dreams and things they want to do with their parents. They mention some jokingly.

Once they mention them, try as a parent to grant them their wishes. It goes a long way in making them feel loved and important. It makes them feel among whenever their friends talk about places they've been and things they did with their parents.

Bottom line, pay attention and grant them most (if not all) their wishes.

Thanks for your time.
