Covid 19: Alumni of Kano varsity appeals for patronage of invented temperature devices
President of the Alumni Association of Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST),Dr Auwal Yusuf Abdullahi, has appealed to the Kano government to patronise the invented infrared temperature measuring device and hand sanitizers.
The President made the appeal on Saturday in a statement signed by the association's National Assistant Secretary General, Mr Baraya Hussain.
He said that government would set example by financially supporting for the mass production and distribution of the device and hand sanitizers to the 44 local government areas of the state.
According to him, "We are appealing for mass patronage of the device by Kano citizens and environs in order to support the University's scientific inventions. "
He explained that the invention was part of the University's corporate social responsibility to support the fight against Corona Virus.
"We as association in collaboration with stats Ministry of health, recently concluded public sensitization campaigns to mitigate the effective spread of the Covid 19 disease." Dr Yusuf revealed.
Furthermore, the alumni association members he explained, had made significant contribution in analysing the geographical distribution of Covid 19 in Nigeria.
It was however reported that the Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), launched its newly invented infrared temperature measuring device and hand sanitizers last week.
