It is also providing raw information and first-hand evidence. Official reports Speeches Posters Letters by participants Photographs and video footage Autobiography Recording Physical objects Court records Secondary Source Secondary sources provide second-hand information by the historian, and it is commentary from other researchers. Journal articles Reviews Academic Books Synthesizes from Primary Sources Books Articles Documentaries Essays Overlapping statement The Differences Between the 2 categories are the origins on how it's created, and they based it on the time and process of how it's written. The Similarities of the 2 are it is informative which came from the actual event and it shows with credibility for the public to avoid hoax and fake information in history.

these two are however needed in our society as primary provides the original version whereas the secondary is used for the benefit of the majority.. It is how we transmit knowledge from generation to the next
