Ese Brume is a Nigerian Athlete who specializes in long jump. She is a native of Delta , studied in Delta State University.A three-time African senior champion in the long jump and holds a personal best of seven and seventeenth metre. The African junior record holder in the event and also a five-time African junior in athletics. Ese Brume has been in the game since 2008 and she is still there till date . A adage says the river that forgets the source will run dry , the now talked about athlete was coached by Yahaya Kayode Hassan Maydon.
In every game , consistency is key.Ese Brume has been in the game for years and deserves every accolades that was given. It is a belief that luck comes a man's way but there is no way luck shines on a lazy fellow,it takes hardwork, smart work and dilligence to attract luck. Ese Brume ran a hundred metre best of eleven and eight tenth seconds then followed this with a long jump best and new African junior record of six and sixty tenth metres to win at the Warri Relays in May 2014.She improved to six and sixty-eight tenths to win her first title. Brume was just eighteen years of age when she dedicated her victory during her win of Gold medal in Commonwealth Games long jump to the Delta State governor , Emmanuel Uduagh.

Brume continued tirelessly untill she was the only Nigerian Athlete nominated in the StarQt Award in the Africa Sportswoman of the year 2019 category. She became the African Games Champion in the long Jump on twenty-nine ,August 2019. On twenty-fourth of July 2019,in Ergurum, Brume improved her personal best to six and ninety-six tenth metre despite a very strong headwind . At the Turkish championship in Bursa that same year,she broke the seven metre barrier for the first time in her career doubling the mark in the competition. Her jump of seven and five-tenth metre ranks as the second best African performance in history .Ese Brume won the Bronze medal in the world championship with a jump of size and ninety-one tenth metre on six October 2019.The best could sometimes be given to the last ,same way the best wine was served at the Cana of Galilee.Ese Brume wins Nigeria's first Athletics medal at the Olympics after thirteen years of waiting .The Delta born brought home a Bronze medal that has been long waited for on the third day of August 2021.
