I wanted to create a site where the viewers pay the content creators directly, and saw how bitcoin cash could be used to achieve this. I started development early February and released the first online version on the sixth of April 2021.
Today’s content creators are plagued with unstable income, demonetisation and scrounging for sponsors. By taking out the middleman we want to give the creator’s greater control over their work. In addition by paying per view you also get rid of adverts in turn making a more pleasant viewing experience.
I decided to keep the cost to view a video low, from 1 500 satoshi, so that a viewer can still effectively browse gaze.cash without feeling daunted by high costs. This can only be achieved with bitcoin cash.
I have implemented a tier system for the videos marked by colour. A content creator can choose the tier and how much bitcoin cash he gets per view for a video. By doing this I give the creators control to earn more if they spend more effort making the video and control to the viewer if they are willing to pay more to watch that video. I hope this will inspire higher quality videos and a community willing to buy into it.
Gaze.cash uses a built in web wallet, You simply pay some money towards a QR code that gets displayed on the main page and you can imediatly start watching video, creating an account is optional. Content creators gets paid imediatly every time one of their videos gets watched. Gaze.cash takes a small but as a fee. Viewers can also tip the uploaded, 100% of the tip is imediatly paid to the uploaded, gaze takes no cut of the tip.
All the basic feutures of Gaze.cash is complete but it is still an ongoing project, nonetheless it is ready to start hosting your content right now! if you are a content creator you can quickly create your account/channel and start uploading imediatly (you need to provide an bitcoin cash public address were you would like to recieve your payments but uploading itself doesnt cost anything).
