STEX (previously stocks.exchange) is a centralised digital currency exchange registered in Seychelles. The offices of STEX are located in Tallinn, Estonia. According to the company, they have over 300,000 registered users and 400+ tokens listed with around 400 trading pairs. STEX is apparently registered with FinCEN as a money service business and it’s operated by Data Protection Corporation.
STEX charges trading fees of between 0.1% - 0.2%. After verifying user data, STEX provides regular or reduced trading fees. The fee depends on the verification level and/or specific marketing campaigns with STEX partners but generally:
Level 1 ( L1 ) - 0.2% for unverified users (up to 50,000$ withdrawal limit per day)
Level 2 ( L2 ) - 0.15% for users verified by Stex, Smart-ID, Fractal
Level 3 ( L3 ) - 0.1% for users verified by Cryptonomica
Positives:
Mobile application for Android and iOS with Trading Views advanced charting.
Access can be instant through Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn accounts and they have 2-factor authentication. For verification purposes you need to link your Google account to your Stex.com account. A valid identity document e.g. passport, identity card, or driving license is required. You need to link your Google account to your Stex.com account and to complete the verification process. With decentralised exchanges such KYC is not required. The good thing however, is that account verification is mandatory only for depositing or withdrawing FIAT currencies, not crypto.
Offers fiat gateway that accepts multiple currencies to verified users.
STEX has a referral program which allows you to earn 25% of the fee charged by STEX.com on all trade transactions made by the users you refer, including all their future purchases or sales. The reward is added to your balance automatically once a day for the sum earned 30 days ago. All fees are recalculated based on the moment when the transaction was done. You are able to withdraw rewards directly to your VISA or MasterCard or via bank transfer, subject to withdrawal procedures and limits.
Offers DeFi auctions.
Offers convenient order processing.
Offers limit and stop-limit orders.
Offers robust rest API & Streaming API over websockets. Good reviews even though when I took a closer look at some of the reviews, they seemed inauthentic (just my opinion).
Negatives
Account verification on Stex.com is actually paid but it’s free on many other cryptocurrency trading platforms.
The trading interface looks a little bit too sophisticated for beginners.
