Don't just exist, Live
Alas once again i've not been able to do my seven day writing streak. I guess it's time i give up and write as the spirit leads as my Christian friends like to say.
I was looking through the WhatsApp status posted by my contact list when I came across the words *Don't just exist, Live* on someone's status. These words particularly coincided with my favorite question I love to ask myself everyday whether I'm living or just surviving.
A lot of people are struggling everyday just to make ends meet amidst a lot of economic uncertainty. Getting food and shelter takes a lot of hardwork and sacrifices. Sadly this struggle sometimes gets to a stage where we forget how to be happy.
Happiness is key in our lives and day by day it's looking like we're having a generation that has learnt the art of fake smiles just to hide our problems and insecurities. No one seems to care because we're all focused on our problems and ours alone.
Sometimes doing something small for like getting a stranger a bottle of water goes a long way to give both of you that sense of happiness. It'll help you feel a connection to someone else that's not you and make you feel that you've accomplished something no matter how small.
The depressing economic situation cannot be helped, but we can choose to keep a smile on our faces regardless of what happens. Let's do more than existing from day to day just on survival mode, it time to start enjoying the little things that makes life interesting.
When was the last time you went out with your family, visited your friends or just spent some quality time with yourself. The funny thing is that problems are never exhausted in this life, as you solve one problem another one crops and on and on.
So in no matter what we do, the problems are always there, what then is the essence of dwelling on our problems instead of chosing to be happy.
I know there are days where it just can't be helped, your mood will be bad. But as long as your know that there's enough happiness to go round, then I believe we'll all be fine.
Look at it from this point of view. Everyday we wake up, but on that same day thousands didn't. We already have the first thing to be happy for. But everyday we wake, biologically we're aging and getting closer to death, meaning our time continues to be limited.
So why not spend as much time as we want being happy and enjoying the wonderful aspects of life
Just like you said, life alone is a sure reason to be happy.
Although life struggles are much but we should find means to be happy amidst these troubles
