THE Bharatiya Janata Party adopted Hindutva officially as its ideology in its 1989 Palampur resolution. The BJP claims that Hindutva represents its ‘cultural nationalism’ and its concept of ‘Indian nationhood’ and that it is not a religious or theocratic concept. According to the BJP this is ‘India’s identity’.
This is a totally false notion used as an excuse to crush minorities, especially Muslims. The stateless position of over two million Muslims in Assam speaks volumes of Hindutva and Modi’s mindset.
There is no dearth of evil-minded people in this world who make the lives of masses miserable. History is replete with such examples. Through a Frankensteinian decree, Modi turned Kashmir into a hell on earth where life has come to a standstill.
Pakistan is trying at its level best to strive for Kashmiris’ right of self-determination by exerting pressure on India to restore the status of occupied Kashmir to the pre-Aug 5 status. Unfortunately, the world’s apathy towards Kashmir is regretful.

The situation in South Asia is very precarious and the only solution is giving the right of plebiscite to the Kashmiri people to let them decide their future.
