Hi dear friends
Syed Gayi Lake is the name of a beautiful lake located in Upper Dir. Located in the Asherai Dara area of Upper Dir, this beautiful lake is as beautiful as it is anonymous.
Due to the difficult passage, very few people visit here, most of them locals.
When we go to Kamrat from Dir, below Dir comes a place called Darora. In Darura, you have to leave the main road and go to the link road of Asherai Dara.
Next will come the anonymous but beautiful areas of Asherai Dara. On the way, you can see dense forests on one side and lush green fields and lush green fields on the other side. You can easily reach Lam Chhar area of Ushra Dara in your car. I
f the condition of the road is not good then it is not so bad. You can easily go to Lam Chhar in a car etc. A well-known and famous waterfall falls in Lamchhad. Lam Gauri is the name given to the village. Since this waterfall is located near the village, it was called Lam Chadh i.e. Chadh near the village which has become Chaddh over time. Before the Pashtuns came here, there were Dardansal people living here. When the Pashtuns invaded here, the ancient locals were forced to take refuge in Kohistan-e-Dir and other nearby passes.
Although the Indigenous people were forced to leave, the names of their villages still remain, such as Simkot, Ghor Khoi Batal, etc. (It is a favor of the ancient people living in the decade that unlike other areas, they did not change the names of villages etc. and left the ancient names). There is a footpath from Lam Chhad to Lake Syedgai.
The path is neither difficult nor easy, there is no escape, there is no straight path. It is about five to six hours drive from Lam Chad to Banal (summer pastures).
Along the way there are dense pine forests and lush green fields. From Banal to the top, where the lake is located, is a two-hour trek. Lam Chad is a seven to eight hour walk from where the car can go to the lake.
It is a beautiful and large lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. There is no hotel and no food is available so don't forget to bring food and tents with you.
Banal is the home of the people of Asherai Dara but most of the people of Swat live here from where you can get full help in case of emergency. Dir is on one side of this lake and Swat Matta is on the other side.
Some friends of Swat consider it part of Swat but in fact it is in Dir area. In summer, people from Swat come here with their livestock, but they pay taxes to the locals.
One of its routes is through Swat Matta and as far as I know it is a three to four hour walk from Matta ie you can easily get here from Swat. In Lamchhad, you can park your car in front of any local's house without any worries.
The locals speak Pashto and are very peaceful and hospitable people who serve the guests beyond their means.
There is no security problem so you can go anywhere at any time. No one is barred from going anywhere.
In case of any emergency, knock on the door of any local and you will get full help from there.
As a nature lover it's my duty to promote and share Pakistan beauty before visitors.
