Azerbaijan and Turkey are conducting joint military exercises in the autonomous Nakhchivan region. The exercise is taking place amid tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The two countries also held joint exercises in the area last month.
Two thousand 700 troops from the two countries are taking part in the ongoing exercise. Besides, tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters and missiles are being used in the exercise. Missiles and shells are being fired at the imaginary position of the enemy. The two countries have also conducted exercises to destroy the imaginary drones of the enemy.
Intelligence drones from Armenia occasionally enter the airspace of Azerbaijan. Last month's joint exercise was conducted in at least five areas, including Nakhchivan. At that time fighter jets of the two countries also took part in it.
