US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
The Daily Mail and Fox News reported on Wednesday (September 9).
He was nominated just weeks after a peace deal was struck between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
He was nominated by Christian Tybring-Zedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament. He praised Trump's efforts to resolve conflicts around the world.
"As far as his qualifications are concerned, I think he has done more to bring peace to the country than most of the people nominated for the Peace Prize," said Christian.
He said the Trump administration has played a key role in establishing relations between Israel and the UAE. Trump has even significantly reduced the number of U.S. military personnel deployed in the Middle East.
