The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Baghdad. Members of the US Navy have launched a major search operation in the northern part of the Arabian Sea on Sunday in search of a sailor who went missing from the USS Nimitz. However, the army did not find any trace till evening. A U.S. Navy spokesman confirmed the news.

A statement from the US 5th Fleet said the USS Nimitz and the guided missile cruiser USS Princeton were conducting a search and rescue operation following reports of a missing US sailor. The sailor went missing yesterday and the search continued till evening.

The U.S. Navy has declined to comment on the whereabouts of the missing soldier. They say his name is being kept secret following US policy. All information will be released later at a convenient time.

The USS Nimitz has 5,000 to 6,000 sailors. Parstude
