The 9th session of the Eleventh National Assembly will begin at 11 am on Sunday, September 6. On 19 August, President Md. Abdul Hamid convened the session with the powers conferred by Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
This session has been called for the 60-day obligation of the constitution. As a result, the session is expected to be shortened. It has been learned from the Parliament Secretariat that so far the sessions 6,7,8,9 are supposed to run for 4 working days. However, if necessary, it can be increased to two or three days. At the time of the global epidemic corona virus infection, this time the Parliament card was not issued for the media personnel to cover the news directly. Like the last two (7th and 8th) sessions, the ninth session will also require news workers to collect news from Sangsad Bangladesh Television.
Besides, the participation of MPs in the session is being restricted. As in the previous two sessions, arrangements have been made for 80 to 90 members to participate every day, according to the Parliament Secretariat. Sick and elderly members will be barred from attending the session. And those who will take part will take part in compliance with all the health rules of Corona. The seating arrangement of the session room has also been maintained at the same distance as the previous two sessions.
Earlier, the budget session of the 11th National Assembly started on June 10 and ended on July 9. The budget for the current financial year was presented and passed in that session of 9 working days. In that session, 5 out of 16 government bills including budget pass were passed.
