The country's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has received an email threatening to assassinate Narendra Modi. The NIA has sent a letter to the Indian Home Ministry to increase Modi's security in the incident.

The NIA suspects that Pakistan-backed conspirators are behind the threat.
Earlier this year, police arrested Anwar and Niaz for threatening to kill Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Karnataka in January.
Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, Twitter reported that the personal website of the Prime Minister of India had been hacked. Following the hacking, multiple tweets were sent from there requesting followers to donate money to a relief fund via cryptocurrency.
