05 (five) drug dealers arrested in RAB-6, Barisal operation

A special expedition team from RAB-8, Barisal, CPSC Camp conducted an anti-drug operation in Kotwali Thana area of ​​Barisal metropolis on 16 September 2020. During the operation, at around 5.20 am, on the basis of secret information, it was learned that some drug dealers were coming from Jessore district to Kuakata in Patuakhali district via Barisal metropolis carrying Phensidyl in a pickup to supply the national drug Phensidyl. A private car is coming together guarding the pickup carrying Phensidyl. Based on the information received, the RAB expeditionary team set up a check post on the paved road in front of the toll house on the Barisal-Kuakata-bound highway adjacent to Dapadapiya Bridge in Rupatli Ward No. 24 under Kotwali Police Station at around 08.05 am. During the search, a white private car and a blue mini pickup in front of the checkpoint actually signaled to stop the car. The two drivers of the vehicle got the signal and stopped the car in front of the check post. When the two drivers of the vehicle saw its movement and became suspicious, the RAB member present approached the vehicle. While fleeing from the car, the allied forces surrounded and detained 05 (five) persons. During the interrogation of the detainees, their names were (1) Md. Touhidul Islam (25), father- Abdullah Biswas, Sang- Benapole Bhaber Ber, (2) Md. Mehedi Hasan (20), father- Md. Ali Kadar, Sang- Benapole Durgapur, both police stations- Benapole Port, District- Jessore, (3) Md. Alauddin (34), Father- Mohammad Ali, Sang- Khalishpur Sikdar Bari Mor, Thana- Khalishpur, KMP, Khulna, (4) Md. Nazmul Hasan @ Sumon (30), Father- Md. Nazrul Islam, Sang- Anjuman Road, Thana- Daulatpur, KMP, Khulna, (5) Md. Shahidul Islam (25), father- Md. Shamsul Haque, Sang- Bajra Baksa, Thana- Kalaroa, District- Satkhira. A search of the pickup truck in the presence of local people led to the recovery of 563 (five hundred and seventy three) bottles of Fencidil and Rs 11,000 / - in cash for sale of drugs and two vehicles used for transporting drugs were seized. The accused further admitted during interrogation that they have been collecting consignments of Fencidil from different parts of the country for a long time and selling them in different police stations of Barisal district.

A case was filed against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act at Kotwali Police Station in Barisal.
