The sacrifice of Abel is reminiscent of what God did in the garden when God took an innocent life in order to clothe Adam and Eve after He promised that a Savior will be born to crush Satan but He will suffer, too. Could it be that Abel's sacrifice indicated to God his HOPE and FAITH in God's promised Savior?

God's acceptance of Abel and his sacrifice substantiate that this is so. The Bible teaches us that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin (Heb.9:22)

Genesis 4:5-7 " but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door, it desires to have you, but you must master it.

God was saying that Cain knew what was right for him to do in order to be forgiven and be accepted but he did not believe it. As we understand now, Cain was supposed to come to God, as Abel did, through Faith in God's promised Savior and Salvation which he can indicate to God through an animal sacrifice as God did in Eden.

Cain's different sacrifice says that Cain has No Faith in what God had already revealed by which they can find forgiveness and acceptance to God. Cain knows what was required. God's word says that sin must be paid with death, but Cain tried to be accepted through his own way. Cain was just like many of us today who think we can appease God or make God forget our sin by doing Him a favor or by offering Him something. But Cain was wrong. Sin must be paid with death.

Keep an eye for the final end of this episode.

Any thought?
