Strays worth saving

So I’ve been a bit occupied with a few things lately. One is what I’ll do for my board reviews because I was allowed to do online reviews by my review center so I won’t be staying in a dorm anymore and I won’t need to move out! And that’s a huge relief to me and my wallets already. It also means I won’t be sad anymore because I don’t need to be far from my family again ^w^  Another thing I’ve been busy with is this stray rescue organization I’ve gotten involved with. It's a local group here that’s situated in the metro. The organization has been around since 2019 and since their first successful rescue, they have helped countless strays that they’ve found. Although it’s mostly in Luzon (the area where the metro is located), it’s still great to see that they never stopped helping the animals that are in need. They’ve been doing what they could to gather funds. They started using their own money, then donations, and now recently, they’ve been trying to sell shirts for a cause. (I don't see their shirts on their page but when I asked the owner, she said that it's a plain shirt with their logo on it) Their group has been amazing so far, and if I was allowed to, I would have joined them in their rescues but given the pandemic, donations are the best I can do for now.  So I started the idea on Wednesday, April 21st. I finally decided to really push through with donating to the strays because if you check their page, the organization is really transparent with what they do. They show the condition in which the animal was found, the assessed fees for medication or for helping, any other expenses, they also show the amount of funds they have received so far.

It’s good to see that kind of transparency so you know that whatever you give will go to good hands. Another thing about them is that they really strive to help their rescues find a forever home. They keep updating their page for adaptors, animals that can be adopted, and the current conditions of the ones that are already in treatment.

I would have loved to adopt and home some of them too but my mother gave me a big N O as an answer so for now, donating regularly is the best I can do for these little ones because if you look through the page, the animals are in really bad conditions. Some of them were abused and dejected, starved, abandoned. Some of them have tumors and really extreme skin conditions. Some of them were victims of hit and runs with vehicles, some of them became the target of amusement and it’s just horrible to see. What’s worse is that strays are the biggest victims of abuse and they just die like that most of the time because they don’t even have the voice to ask for help. If they do make any form of noise to ask for help, they’re seen as a nuisance and the next thing they know, objects might come flying towards them.  It’s just a sad thought and so far, I can’t give much but with whatever I can get, I’m trying to make sure that a portion goes to the organization and hopefully it will encourage them to help more… or at least until I can volunteer with helping too 😅😅😅 because I really have a passion for animals given that I’m a pet owner too.
