More Powerful Than any Weapon

Do you believe that there is miracle in prayer? How do you pray? Is it enough to have our personal prayer without attending communal prayer? Has prayer been part of your daily or weekly routine? How important is prayer in your life? I am sure that we have different answers to those questions. This is not to insult you if you're not practicing talking to God through prayer but to encourage you all to be connected to Him at all times.

Obviously, my second article talks about prayer. What does it mean when we do prayer? Prayer is the best connection to God. It doesn't need an internet connection for us to connect with Him regularly. It doesn't need to have load so that we can talk to Him spiritually. And most of all, prayer doesn't need any phones so that we can contact Him directly. What we need is our sincerest heart because God listens to a man's prayer coming from the heart and not by voice or words. When we pray the Lord's prayer, as we say "Our Father..." it means a relationship between a Father and his children. So, prayer is a personal relationship with God.

In the other sense, prayer is not only talking to God but it is also listening to His will. After saying or reciting our prayer, let's have a self reflection. Try to reflect yourself if those petitions you asked is not only for yourself. Others must also benefit of your prayer. When we pray, let's think others first especially the sick, prisoner and the poor. We pray italso those who need our prayer such as the afflicted, abused, depressed, frustrated and even the unfaithful people. In prayer, we also include our loved ones, family, friends and relatives, neighbors and the enemies as well.

Prayer can be done in many ways. Personal prayer is a form of prayer that you did it solely. It is usually done before going to sleep or even if you're in travel. Family prayer is another form of prayer that the whole family is present. It can be done before or after meals, and even in the daily rosary. Lastly, communal or public prayer is another form of prayer where there is an active participation of other people within the community. It can be done through the highest form of prayer which is the Holy Mass or Sunday worship of other chirstians. It is also usually done through family group bible sharing or prayer meeting.

In Christianity, when we pray, ACTS should be present; Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Prayer should start with a simple adoration like Heavenly Father, Most Powerful Gracious Father, etc. It followed with contrition, accept that we are all sinners and confess to Him all our lapses and trespasses before thanking Him for all the graces and blessings He bestowed upon us. Lastly, prayer should end with the petitions. That's how an effective prayer is. It is tested and proven.

However, The Lord's prayer is a perfect prayer. It comprises on adoring God for being creator of heaven and earth, asking our daily needs material and spiritual things, forgiving sins of other people and asking His protection against any temptations and evil works. You can recite it verbally, or say it meditatively or contemplatively.

Why do we need to pray? How important it is in our lives? Prayer helps to resist any temptations. It is the best weapon to fight against problems and troubles like war and conflict. Praying unceasingly makes us calm and relaxed in times of difficulties. Praying consistently helps us to increase our faith to God. Prayer is more powerful than any weapon.
