There is a commonly held view that eating disorders are a lifestyle choice. Eating disorders are actually serious and often fatal illnesses that cause severe disturbances to a person’s eating behaviors

Obsessions with food, body weight, and shape may also signal an eating disorder. Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder.

This period anorexia nervosa was coined in 1873 by man William Gull, one of king victoria's own doctors. (Gull WW, 1997) This history of anorexia nervosa starts with descriptions of spiritual fasting dating from this Hellenic era (Pearce JM, 2004) And extending into this medieval period. This medieval knowledge of self-starvation by females, including some teenage females, in the name of spiritual righteousness and virtue also relates anorexia nervosa; it is sometimes referred to as anorexia mirabilis. (Espi Forcen F, 2013) (Harris JC, 2014)

Awareness of this disease was mostly restricted to the medical profession until the latter part of the twentieth century, when German-American psychiatrist Hilde Bruch issued this Golden Cage: The secret of Anorexia Nervosa in 1978.Despite great advances in neuroscience, bruch's theories tend to influence common thought. One further significant event was the killing of the favorite musician and drummer Karen Carpenter in 1983, which prompted widespread current media reporting of eating disorders. (Arnold , Carrie, 29 walk 2016)

Models in modeling industry try methods to get skinnier like the bulimic method which requires you to eat and force yourself to puke . This leads to many deficiencies as well as eating disorders like bulimia Nervosa. By which even if the person wants to eat mroe food they can't because their stomach can only take small amounts as it begins to reject the huge amounts off food they wanna consume .
