Air pollution

When air contains excessive amount of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other harmful gases, it is known as air pollution. Air pollution is more acute especially in big cities and industrial areas than in the rural areas. Air in those areas are constantly being polluted by smoke fume gases from mills factories. Big cities have various types of cars, buses and trucks plying on the streets all day long. These vehicles burn diesel and petrol which produce a lot of smoke and pollute air. Overpopulation is another cause of air pollution.Open dumping of waste and dead animals thrown in the open space also pollute air. Railway engines and powerhouses burn coal and oil which produce smoke and air is polluted. Nowdays,polluted air causes many incurable diseases. To minimize air pollution, we must raise public awareness. Newspapers,radio and Tv can play a vital role in this respect. Vehicles should not be permitted to be the source of air pollution. Strict laws must be enacted so that unfit vehicles emitting black smoke, cannot ply on city roads. Scientific ways should be devised for the disposal of synthetic and waste materials. Lawbreakers must be punished severely. Traffic Police and other relevant agencies must be given proper training. I, like all other people, like to have my City to be a pollution - free one. To tell frankly, I would like to see my city as beautiful and worthy of living in the days to come.
