Then, as usual, another week passed, so now we will see what happened in the last seven days. Bitcoin is thriving. Tron was almost hacked off half a billion. Stablecoins are funny for now, with TUSD jumping to the second position, before USDC and BUSD. What else? Read below:

  • Bitcoin: Bitcoin cryptic Peter Schiff uses ordinals for art projects. Why and how? we have no idea. The US debt ceiling deal blocks Bitcoin mining tax. The "Bitcoin Standard" author, Dr. S. Ammous, is now an economic advisor to El Salvador's Bitcoin Office. Texas legislature shows support for the Bitcoin mining industry, providing incentives and tax exemptions for miners. The number of Ordinals inscriptions on the BTC Network surpassed 10M, for the first time since the launch in January. Bitcoin traded for a discount in Binance Australia, ahead of the Fiat Ramp closure

  • Ethereum: Ethereum NFTs can now be bridged to the Bitcoin network, after the launch of the BTC-721E standard. Crypto lender Celsius’ $800M Ether staking shake-up stretches Ethereum validator queue to 44 days. I just wonder if those are the people's crypto that many of us are waiting to be given back as soon as possible.

  • Altcoins and stablecoins: Tether (USDT) will start to mine Bitcoin in Uruguay, focusing on renewable energy and achieving a new all-time high market cap. A zero-day vulnerability in Tron multi-sig accounts was discovered, putting $500M at risk. It was promptly fixed after it was reported by dWallet Labs. Uniswap decided to not charge fees for liquidity providers, after a close vote among UNI token holders. TrueUSD (TUSD) becomes the second largest stablecoin by trading volume, outpacing USDC and BUSD. USDC will launch natively on Arbitrum Blockchain. Check X-Portal - Elrond, they are still offering a nice interest for now, around 10%, and they keep adding more features, showing potential for profit long-term. Across Protocol seems to do alright with an up to 15.70% interest on my staked USDC, I am pleased with the results for now, and I am looking to add some more USDC to maximize my returns even further.

  • Blockchain games and NFTs: Metaverse properties, or as we know them, land NFTs, experienced a 90% loss in value from their peak price in 2022. Blur's NFT Lender attracted 16K loans worth $225M in less than a month. Nike NFTs will appear in EA Sports games. Splinterlands started the June event, based on DEC token burning, with some serious prizes for the top of the leaderboard, and the last time I checked, you needed something crazy like half a million DEC burned to enter in the top 200, for a guaranteed title and other prizes. I half-heartedly decided to participate, but I have some doubts about this being the right way to reach the peg once more. Season 10 of Wombat Dungeon Masters is getting close to its end in less than 2 weeks, and until now it looks great. You can use the Wombat game to stake NFTs on wax and get some nice rewards. You may even get an NFT for free if you use the link provided.

  • Good news: Binance prepares to launch a regulated subsidiary in Japan. Beijing Government releases a web3 whitepaper, trying to become a global innovation hub for the digital economy, but many people who lost money with China's frequent policy changes are still waiting to see what happens. EU study treats crypto assets as securities, now that the Markets in Crypto-Assets proposal becomes a law. Tornado Cash attacker gives up control and votes to undo the damage. Celsius is looking to open withdrawals for the post-petition transfers. Chainalysis acquired the real-time crypto data company Transpose. Blockfi is one step closer to paying back the crypto to their users after the Court decision on May 17, 2023.

  • Bad news: Jimbo Protocol on Arbitrum was hacked, and lost $7.5M worth of ETH. The Sandbox CEO, Arthur Madrid, had his Twitter account hacked, promoting a phishing scam. LeoFinance Discord was also hacked, promoting different scams. Genesis Global Capital and Gemini filed a motion to dismiss the SEC lawsuit accusing them of selling unregistered securities, arguing that the treatment of the contract as an unregistered security lacks a basis in law or fact. Bali's governor warned the tourists that using crypto for payments can lead to deportation and criminal penalties. SBF will get some charges dropped following his extradition to the US. Wahi brothers reached a settlement with SEC over charges of insider trading involving crypto asset securities, before public announcements. Bitcoin Millionaire and crypto-founder found dead with a gunshot wound, just another mark in a series of unexplained death in the crypto community (is someone hunting them trying to delay the inevitable? the shadow masters becoming afraid?). The Singapore wealth fund Temasek puts crypto investments on hold after they wrote off a $275M investment in the FTX exchange. ByBit plans to withdraw from the Canadian market after May 31. Binance is planning to lay off 20% of its workforce this month, in a 'resource reallocation' move. Multichain's CEO was unreachable as the protocol suffered a node network failure.

  • Joke of the week: Russia abandoned its plans for a national crypto exchange (they realized this will never happen and will not be used by many people) and instead it will be focusing on regulating the multiple crypto platforms willing to operate there, under the central bank supervision. In my country, there is a saying that says: The fox who cannot reach the grapes says to itself that they are not ripe yet.

All the best,

George

Why not...

...have fun and win rewards on my favorite blockchain games (Splinterlands - Hearthstone-like card game) (Mobox - GamiFI NFT platform) (Wombat Dungeon Masters NFT staking on WAX) and (X-Portal - Elrond all in one app, free NFTs, and more).

...get crypto while writing on Publish0x blog, using Presearch search engine to maximize your income with PRE tokens. Use Torum instead of Twitter . I am also writing for crypto on Read.cash and Hive.

I also got rewards this week on Hive for my post. I don't usually post there often because I make quite elaborate posts, I take my time writing and creating gifs. I love gifs, they add a nice touch to blogs. I am very glad that you have received good rewards, that you continue to grow. :D

Doing one post per day for 6 months, this is how you build an impressive portfolio. Try it, and thank me later.
