Splinterlands is a blockchain card game, similar with the classic Hearthstone, but with a twist. You can earn cryptocurrency playing it, and lately they kind of make it easier than before, with more cards available when you start, so the gaming experience is smoother and more pleasant. Before, it was quite frustrating to win, until you managed to get few good cards, so many will quit in the starting phase. With the latest additions and changes, you have more options to enjoy the game. All you have to do is to finish your daily quests, to receive chests containing cards, upgrade potions or crypto. Their native currency is called DEC, and it is available on multiple blockchains (Ethereum, Hive and Tron). You can make an account just using your email and a password. This post is a part of a weekly battle challenge where the players are using specific cards to learn new ways to play.

The chickens of the Splinterlands have had enough. For too long they have been kept in cages and pens. For too many generations their eggs have been made into omelettes, their breasts and thighs into nuggets, and their most pristine feathers into rather tacky jewelry. Under the brave leadership of a great hero known only as The Alpha Chicken, all chicken-kind is finally rising up against their oppressors. This uprising, all across the Splinterlands, is known as the Cluckening.
Hey, hey, this week is one of my favourite card, the Furious Chicken. As I always said to my beginner friends, this is one must be, that you need more that a tank or a heavy damage card. I mean, it is a ZERO mana cost card, which can be used in multiple way, mainly to protect another cards. Can be first, to get a hit instead of the tank, can be second, to get a snipe or opportunity attack hit instead of a glass cannon card you just used, or can be last, to protect you from those pesky sneak attacks. The only problem right now is that it is not that cheap, as a max level is 40-50$, and a Gold card max level can be up to 770$. Crazy!
If you check the stats, the Furious Chicken is a Neutral Splinter card, given as Reward, with the Enrage ability activated at level 5. Fully upgraded, it has 2 Melee Attack, 2 Speed and 1 Health, with 0 (ZERO) mana cost. Basically you can use it in any battle with a free spot left on the team, and it is really making a difference in low mana battles.
In the video, I used the Chicken on the first position, to protect the tank from one extra hit.
The game has a 24 Mana limit, with Earthquake (Monsters without fly get 2 Melee damage each turn) and Close Range rulesets (Ranged can attack from first position).
I used Brighton Bloom as summoner (Give Fly to every card in the team) as it is the one needed for Earthquake ruleset. I had the Furious Chicken first, to get hit once instead of the tank, followed by Living lava, Manticore and Giant Rock, latest 2 having Reach (Melee attack from the second position). Last I added the Fire Spitter, for some extra ranged attack.
The opponent has Alric, with magic boost, but used only one magic card - Sea Genie, with Chicken first, followed by 2 Self Healing cards (Sea Monster and Water elemental), with a Flying card last - Cocatrice.
As you can see in the video, both Chickens, mine and his, died first. His 2 tanks died first, than my Living Lava. Than his other two cards were out. I must to admit that being immune to Earthquake gave me the advantage, without it I would most probably lost due to his self-healing.
