There are no money like free money. And when we mention this, two of the best paying blockchain at the moment are Splinterlands and Axie Infinity. With a slight difference, you may need 1000+$ to buy 3 Axies and make a team to get paid, while Splinterlands only asks for a mere 10$ for a Spellbook, and then you can gain right away, in multiple ways. You get paid in their native crypto called DEC when you win battles, you can get new NFT monsters, DEC and other rewards by doing the daily quest, you can receive governance tokens (SPS) airdropped every day for another 355 days, you can sell your NFT monsters on WAX or HIVE, you can provide liquidity on ETH or BSC (check Cub.finance for this, if you do not know about them yet).
And there it is, this week battle challenge is to use the Cave Slug in a battle.
The Cave Slug is a Common Untamed Life splinter monster, a bit costly to play at 5 Mana, but it can offer 4 Melee Damage, and 6 Health, with a very slow 2 Speed. Got Opportunity skill at level 1 ( Targets monster with lowest health, useful to clean the low life ones on the back), Scavenger at level 6 ( Health bonus +1 for every monster that dies) and Slow at max level 10 (Decrease Speed by 1). It is useful to play on some rulesets like Equalizer, if you got Scavenger unlocked, or Poison/Earthquake, as the 5 Health is decent for a Scavenger.
So, for this challenge, these were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 18
Rulesets: Unprotected (No Armor boost or stack) and Equalizer (All monsters have the highest Health possible)
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Daria Dragonscale for the +1 Melee Attack boost, Furious Chicken and Silvershield Bard for 1 Mana cost per two tanks, thanks to Equalizer, Cave Slug for opportunity damage on the back lines, Evangelist for a nice 4 Ranged Damage and Inspire (Another +1 Melee Damage boost) and just for the remaining 2 Mana, the Silvershield Archer for Snipe (Attacking the Mage and Rangers) and Double Strike.
Opponent - Summoner: for main tank, Undead Rex, with Trample, Corupted Pegasus with Reach to attack from second position, Tank Heal, +1 Health boost and Flight (Avoid melee and ranged damage). , with 9 Melee damage from just these two tanks. Next was just fodder, Cursed Slimeball with Redemption ( 1 Damage to all when dies) and Furious Chicken.
My Chicked died first, followed promptly by his Chicken, then my Silvershield Bard, and finally his Undead Rexx, and with it most of his firepower. Without being able to do a lot of damage, the opponent quickly lost his two remaining cards (Pegasus and Slimeball).
Star of the game? Ironically, the Cave Slug, as it did most of the damage and resisted to quite few serious hits, thanks to its Scavenger ability.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising at almost a million. 990K of my target of 1000K reached and hopefully the 1 million will be done in one or two weeks. A bit difficult now as the price went up a lot. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum.
