Short Story challenge - day 20
As I promised, this month I will do another writing challenge, this time the focus will be on storytelling, and I will try to immortalize a fragment of life, a short story about something that made me wonder, being that an idea or a peek into a stranger's life. Enjoy!
My thoughts are warming up as we are getting close to Christmas, but all you can see around seeping insidiously, is division, more and more division. Do not divide us no more, soccer or football, is the same game people, just enjoy it. I want it to write something more wholesome, something positive today.
Awe and thunder (26.11.2022)
For as long as I remember, I wanted to be a change in the world. To bring positivity, to bring joy, to bring hope. But it is not always easy. Because, before helping others, we need to help ourselves. And more often, we know how and when to do it. This is the finest trick. We need to listen to our inner voice, to our intuition, and follow advice.
But, to be on course with the challenge, I will share with you a story, from the Sacred Secret Fathers of the Orthodox Church. On a Greek small island, there were 3 monks, who spend their time praying and trying to be perfect channels for God's will. And one day the bishop was passing by with a boat, heard about them, and went to visit them. Asking them about how they pray, he was told that they just say:
-"We are three, you are Three, have mercy on us!"
The bishop explained to them that there is the proper way to pray, and teach them a long elaborate prayer. Then left. A few minutes later, the three monks were running, on water, after the boat.
-"We are sorry Bishop, but we forgot the ending of the prayer you reached us. Can you say it one more time?"
The bishop apologized and told them to continue praying in their own way.
The same thing can happen in your life. You should know better what is good for you and what to do for your own good. Listen to your heart, not to the environment.
