This week battle challenge is using one of the Death splinter mighties - The Grim Reaper. As you can see this card is good in offence, with average speed and health points. First skill - Affliction - is ideal to deal with those pesky healer-tanks. Second skill - Oppress - active at level 5, can be useful when you play without melee tanks due to the ruleset. Last skill - Piercing - active at max level, can help you deal better with the +1 or +2 extra armor boost. I prefer to use it on the equalizer ruleset, for the extra life durability, as you gonna see in the following video.
The match was played on Equalizer and Aim True ruleset, with max life and no dodge for melee and ranged attacks. The mana per match was 42. My formation used Mimosa Nightshade as summoner for her Affliction, Void and minus 1 ranged attack on the other team. I used the Dark Ha-on (10 Mana) as tank for its Taunt and Flying, followed by Shadowy Presence (1 Mana - cheap back up). The main card to get a sure win was legendary Ancient Lich (7 Mana, 3 magic damage and life leech), protected by Grim Reaper (6 Mana, 3 ranged damage), Boogeyman (6 Mana, 2 magic damage, speed decrease) and SoulStorm (5 Mana, 3 ranged damage and Snare, in case of flying tank).
My strategy worked perfectly against a magic boosted team with Alric (+1 magic damage), The Kraken and Sandworm as melee tanks, and some magic and ranged damage cards. He got some 3 level 3 cards, while i had only 3 level 2 in my team, the rest being level 1. My Dark Ha-on fell first, followed by his Kraken. I lost the Shadowy Presence and the Grim Reaper against his Sandworm, and then my Lich went on the first position. By now it has 22 Health so the odds turned in my favour. His remaining for cards did not have enough damage to stop the Ancient Lich, which finished the match with 20 Health. Check the video bellow.
Stil, even if it is hard enough, i am enjoying my time in Gold league for the moment, as i am quite challenged against some obviously superior teams. This time my strategy was enough, but my rate of winning in here is like 1 out of 3 games, as opposed with my one-trick wonder used in Silver (Yodin Zaku + ranged).
Talking about the splintertalk.io forum and the Splinterlands ecosystem, i decided to get some SPT tokens and to delegate @monster-curator with it.
