Past time with a Past Christmas Zombie - Animated Corpse (A Splinterlands battle challenge)- Day 66

0 23

Chaos Legion cards pre-sale is done, and somehow I have managed to buy 700 packs, a solid number, much higher than the 500 I expected to get. The second sale will start soon, with double the drop rate for the vouchers. You still need to use them to buy more packs, until beginning of January, when we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers.

The Animated Corpse is a Common Death monster, from Alpha/Beta edition, is just 4 Mana cost and at max level it comes with 4 Melee Damage, 3 Speed, no Armor and 9 Health. At level 4 gains Void ( Minus 1 Magic Damage decrease). It is an obvious second choice, as the Haunted Spirit is superior and more durable due to Heal. In case of a ruleset with no heal, is a good choise in order to save 1 extra Mana for superior firepower. It is quite expensive, and if you did not buy it until now, you may not need it, with Chaos legion just around the corner (by the way, 3 days left until you can open the cards).

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 12

Rulesets: Silenced Summoners (no ability for summoners) and Blast (damage reflected to the monsters adiacent to the one who got the hit)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Contessa L'Ament (no boosts) with Animated Corpse like tank, followed by a Cursed Slimeball and a Shadowy Presence at fodder, and the Haunted Spider with Poison as main damage. Last was one Furios Chicken, to prevent some Snipe/Sneak attacks.

Opponent - Summoner: Bortus (no boosts) with Sea Monster as main tank, Two guns Pete as backup damage and a Furious Chicken on the back.

This was a game that underlined why Haunted Spirit is the obvious choice, as this game could have been won easily if the Haunted Spirit with heal was there instead of the Animated Corpse. At the end of the round one I lost the tank and the Slimeball, killing his two monsters on the back, the Chicken and Pete. Then, as expected, I did not have enough firepower to take down the Sea Monster, even if it was Poisoned. My two other ones died one after another.

Star of the game - The opponent Sea Monster, winning the game all by itself.

All the best, George
