So, I have started to play Upland few months ago, when the other contest started, and I actually wrote few articles about it, most appreciated post being Upland blockchain game - permanent game account with no investment strategy. It was quite interesting when I started, and I managed to even do some achievements on it, but being mostly based in US, somehow was missing something. The latest contest dare us to present other locations and tell others what we have to offer. Well, living in a small English market town is nothing but spectacular, for everyone else except the ones living there. What can I say, I tried really hard to get some of our acquitances place online, just to watch them panic when you say: ''You know, I own your place in the virtual world!''. As this selfie will prove them, for the fun of the game.
You can observe the differences between early spring and summer, but other than this is just another subject to discuss before we get bored at some family event. Going even further, let me show you how a typical English Sunday goes around here.
I was born in 1621, 400 years ago, and I am Immortal. Opps, this is another story. The real one is shown bellow, using advanced techniques to calculate it rendering the numbers visually. Hey, G, cut the crXp, tell us that story!
The story, yes, everything is coming back to me. As I finished my English breakfast, I went to my castle balcony to watch over the river Ouse, the river that goes through the town, separating the rich and the poor, the lucky and the unlucky ones. Or as Shakespeare call it, the left and the right side of the river. There is also a popular saying about all this social inequality, when you are asked where are you going: ''To the Left, where nothing is Right, or to the Right, where nothing is Left.'' But I digress.
The social life starts here in the morning, at the Rowing Club, where you keep your boats, and where you also watch England crushing Germany and all other nations at football, once every 25 years. Yesterday they even managed to beat the mighty team of Ukraine, facing a powerful Denmark in semi-finals.
Me and my lady get into the water to row, row, row our boats, for an hour or so.
The kids are training into their water polo sessions, being located in between Cambridge and Oxford makes this a much needed skill for everyone trying to get into University, unless you go to Hogwarths, that being the case you need Advanced Magic skill module instead of water polo.
After performing our morning routine, all the family is getting around for the traditional Sunday roast, the focal point of every week, where we discuss about how well our horses performed in the previous week races. See on the panel a bit more information about it.
I was a bit bothered as the cook couldn't decide if we will use the regular Yorkshire pudding or the giant ones. Personally, I like the giant ones. If you want to see right here, that was the final result. A perfect Sunday roast, with all the trimmings.
After the meal, the whole family goes to the evening Mass in our lovely church, St Paul's Church, wearing the name of my little brother, Paul, the MemeLord. (You can check his UplandCity entry here, hint, it is about London.)The streets are not very busy, so we chose to walk instead of getting the horse and carriage. (This making me to think at our marriage, thanks to Bundy's family.)
The church is the place you go for wisdom, where unlike on Internet, you can learn things like how every cathedral is a church, but not every church is a cathedral. In order to be a cathedral, a church needs to have a catedra, a place where a Bishop is working. So basically you can upgrade a church to cathedral if you have a free bishop. After a Queen will approve it. Well, i presume you can learn all these from internet too, but it is much better when one Immortal monk is explaining all these stuff. After all, the church if a Holy Ground. Even if in the End can be only one.
After the church, everyone is going for tea and scones, after all it is 5 o'clock now. Right across the street there is a nice pub, on the ground floor of the Swan Hotel.
Drinking a good tea, with the right amount of milk and no sugar, is the highlight of the day, and the scones and the rose petal jam are the only things making this little ritual even better. A double single malt whiskey is welcomed in the winter, to keep you warm. Word of advice, do not try the spiced tea, it is an abomination.
At last, in the evening the kitchen lady is taking the kids to help feed the ducks, while the Lady of the house is watching her soaps (Downton Abbey finished, there is only Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Coronation Street left, if you are American or Canadian, watch this at your own risk).
As for me, I am spending the evening shooting clay pigeons or checking the cryptocurrency portfolio, activity that was not very pleasant lately. Still, there is hope for Bitcoin to reach $100K this year. Come on, Daddy need to buy a little white pony for his little girl. Well, she wants an unicorn, but i think a pony will do. I will just tell my little princess that the horn is growing only after the unicorn is 50 years old.
(Now i realized the use of the English grammar rule, size before colour, with little white pony. We learned it long time ago with big black dragons, but the times are changing.)
That's all for today.
All the best,
George
