It’s necessary to try the impossible, to see the limitations of the possibility
Today was more of a "taking care of stuff around the house" day. Had a good night's sleep, had a specialist check and clean my double oven, and sealed it with silicone on the outside of the shower, so with this, the bathroom should be 100% good at the moment. Assembled my newly gifted gaming chair, and went to the city dump to get rid of the old one and all the cardboard boxes. Stopped at a restaurant nearby, Beefeater, to get a free meal as they sent me a voucher for my birthday. Added a hot chocolate to it, and there I am, good until dinner time.
This was my day mostly, and now, as I get to relax a bit, I may play a game of League of Legends and enjoy my new gaming chair. Looking at my yearly stats today, I do not know how good or how bad I am! LoL! They say I am a trendsetter, with 161 wins (top 32%), and an 8971 vision score (top 18% - I know I am a sucker for good vision and I like to see around the area where I am farming. 3 quadra kills and no penta, as I mainly play support. KDA 1.56, so I am slightly above average and I like to steal kills as support.
We got a new Splinterlands roadmap, and the main points that make me like them are:
Q1 - DEC batteries result in a 20% discount, this is something cool, that I probably use to save some for the next expenses.
Q1 - Soulbound rewards cards - this is something that I do not really agree with, as this will limit some small players who can buy them and max them, so this is a clear advantage to the whales.
Q2 - SPS delegation rental markets - this is something good to help players as CP will be replaced with SPS staking.
Q3 - Land phase 2, letting us build structures and get resources.
Q3 - Rebellion cards set launched. So, we have at least 6 months to get more CL and RW packs. I think CL will finish quite fast, maybe in March.
Promo card - Quarterly sale - this is a good way to burn some SPS/DEC. What are they doing with the SPS/DEC resulting from these sales?
Other than that, with few hours left to still get the free promo card with every pack bought, I FOMOed a bit and bought another 4 CL packs with my remaining DEC. Next on the list now, is to gather 1800 HIVE to buy another 100 Genesis League packs, if I can.
I finally decided where to go on my next holiday, most probably, and I think it will be a week in Istanbul. I will see when and how, as soon as the financial year ends, and I can book my holidays once more. Istambul seems ideal for a spring or autumn month, not too hot, with plenty of places to see, and good food on top of that. Turkish people are very nice and friendly, and to my surprise, many of them speak my language a bit (Romanian) as an alternative to basic English. The 10-20 words that I learn in Turkish also helped. Constantinopole, get ready to amaze me!
Other than that, slowing down feels good, trying to avoid the rush and live life in a way that gives you enough time to notice the small miracles in your life. But then, a new issue arises. I am good at automating stuff and creating time-saving habits, but then, not that good at using my free time. As someone once said, there is no free time, only wasted time. And this made me worry. The idea that I got, is to read more books, and maybe do some new classes, learning new skills. I used to like to read, but, in the past few years, for some reason, I did not read that much. I do get some very concentrated books, where just by reading 10 pages my brain gets at its limit, I am also reading 3-4 books at the same time, switching one with another when I get bored. This also results in me taking more time to finish them. The light ones are alright, I am at the half of Prince Harry 'Spare' one, in only two days. Yet, I know I can do more. And I WANT MORE. More focus, more concentration, more awareness.
So, see you once more tomorrow, is time for me to unwind now. The peace that I search for may be near. I go searching.
