Here comes the thunder, the big bad punter, Kulu Swimhunter (A Splinterlands battle challenge)
Kulu Swimhunter is a strange card, but a very useful one, even without any active skills. At max level, this Common Water unit will have 4 Ranged Damage, 5 Speed and 6 Health, all of them for only 4 Mana cost. There are many rulesets where this one will be useful, starting with Little League and Rise of the Commons, and finishing with Close Range (ranged attacking from first position).
So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 48
Rulesets: Healed Out (no healing) and Equalizer (Highest health will be shared by all cards)
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Bortus (decreasing the Magic attack by 1), with The Kraken as main tank with Taunt and Demoralize (decrease melee attack by 1), Torhillo the Frozen as the back-up, reducing magic attacks with Void, Lobstradamus as last line of defence against magic, with Magic Reflect, Shield and Thorns , Kulu Swimhunger as ranged with a cool 4 Damage, Nerissa Tridawn with a decent 4 Magic attack, and Doctor Blight hidden in the shadows using Camouflage, killing them softly with Poison, Affliction and decreasing health with Weaken .
Opponent - Summoner: Obsidian (+1 Magic damage boost), with Grund as main tank with double strike and Trample, Djinn Bilka, reducing my troops Health, with Camouflage and Void (reduced magic damage), Spirit Druid Grog recovering health while attacking with Leech, and a very useful Ressurect, Venari Seedsmith with Poison and extra health from Scavenger, Mitica Headhunter with Snare and 4 Ranged damage, and a Micellic Slipspawn on the back, getting the heat with Taunt and Forcefield (1 damage instead of 5+).
This was a interesting battle, and my main tank fell first, followed by his Micellic Slipspawn, killed twice (damn you Ressurect spell). In the second round my back-up tank died, and for a second it looked like I will lose, but Grind died too on the opponent side. On the 3rd round was quiet, and on the 4th one I killed his Djinn Bilka, and my Lobstradamus got shot down during the process too. Then my Kulu and his Druid went down together, and 2 cards are still alive on each side. The Venari Seedsmith got 23 Health when he stepped in the front, but died anyway, killing Nerissa too. Luck being on my side, his last card was a Ranged, who could not attack from the first position. I won.
Star of the game - Doctor Blight, the one and only survivor of this bloody battle.
All the best,
George
