If you are a tourist and you have never visit idanre hill in ondo state. You have not been to an amazed place in your life. Idanre is the name of a town which is located beside a small town name Owena and this owena is along akure road, it is about20 kilometres southeast from the capital, ondo state in western part Africa Nigeria the giant of Africa. Idanre acquired is name through idánree.when translate to English language it means (this is wonder)
According to the name of this town there are many wonderful things in this town and even the hill. According to history and what the instructor told us the people of the town name idanre were descendants of duduwa,he said those people left ile ife and some people were pursuing them so the ran deep into forest and come to this mysterious place called idanre. There is no how you here the story of idanre hill without mention the name of their legend name (Agboogun) he fought many war for the people of idanre.
The people of this town lived almost 800 years before they moved down from the hill around 1923, they have lived up to 97 year since they have come down from the hill almost a century.
Like I said earlier, there are many wonderful things on this hill
1.The great step. (Ibi akaso) in yoruba language. when I and my classmates counted it,there are 660 step that lead up to the hill with 5 resting point.
2.Omi apaara. History said that is was thunder that strike a rock and form a well
3.Arun river,The believe of the indigine of idanre town is that this arun river can cure any disease on this surface once you have faith in it.
4.Unreadable letters. I and my classmates argued when we reached that place,that letter is indeed unreadable.
5.Agboogun Footprint. The most amazed things in that place is that, if people of different height, weight, foot size, this particular footprint we size you either young or old teenage or adult. But if this Footprint doesn't size you that means you are a witch. That was a method how the people of idanre used to detect a witch.
6.The wonderful mat.
7. The wonderful rock. In this place it was like improper fraction were by the small rock carry the big rock.

The people of this town used to celebrate their festival around December or January, part of the event that are carried out by the youth is to climb the hill. And the winner will win alot of prize. Another one is to lift a stone above yourwaist, if you can't lift the stone that means you are not strong enough to married.
The people of this town loved eating pounded yam with okra soup or melon or vegetable with bush meat, snail, stock fish.etc.
There is a particular crown were by the king wore during the festival. It was an amazing crown, the crown used to expand itself. It was like magic.
There are alot of fruits on there, which we are also allow to eat. We saw monkeys playing around, including alot of bat.
