They are the ones who are the ones.

Translated by Kinz Al-Irfan:

Lo! Those who have divided their religion into sects, and have become sects, O Beloved! You have nothing to do with them. Their case is only with Allah, then He will tell them what they used to do.

تفسیر صراط الجنان:

ن ِّنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوْا دِينَهُمْ: Indeed, those who have divided their religion into pieces.

(1) * Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says, “These people mean Jews and Christians.

Before the revelation of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, they used to disagree with each other and later they became divided into different sects.

(Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim, Al-An'am, under verse: 1, 2/3)

(2) * Hazrat Hassan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) says, “All the polytheists are meant by them because some of them worshiped idols and said that they will intercede for us in the sight of Allah Almighty. Some worshiped the angels and said that the angels are the daughters of God and some worshiped the stars, so this is a difference in their religion.

(Khazan, Al-An'am, under verse: 2, 3/4)

The cause of sectarianism and who is right?

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: He was killed due to a dispute in the religion of Azwajal.

(Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim, Al-An'am, under verse: 1, 2/3)

In short, this verse teaches Muslims to agree on one ideology, to avoid sectarianism and innovation in religion. Nowadays some people ask why there is sectarianism in Islam and who among them is right? In this regard, keep in mind a few things, God willing! It will be clear to you what the real cause of sectarianism is and which of the different sects is on the right.

First thing: This Ummah will never be led astray. Hazrat Anas (RA), crowned Prophet Muhammad, Allah's Apostle said: 'If these followers La tjtma Ali zlala fazaraytm differences falykm balsuad Azam' My people will not submit error, when you see the difference Hold on to the largest group. (Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Fitna, Bab al-Sawad al-Azam, 1/2, Hadith: 1)

Secondly: The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had foretold this difference and sectarianism centuries ago. 'ualzy self Mohammad baidehi ltftrqn followers Ali slas usbayn community, Wahida per aljna usntan usbaun per fire, mans Prophet like we said, who deviates' by Allah, in the hands of Mohammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) My ummah will be divided into 73 sects (one of them) will go to heaven and 72 will go to hell. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! (صَلَّى اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ) Who will be in Paradise?

(Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Fitna, Bab Iftraq al-Umm, 1/2, Hadith: 1)

Events have proved that what the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about the differences of the ummah was based on absolute truth and righteousness.

Thirdly, it is very important to know how the righteous and the saved group will be known in this time of conflict, how it will be known who is right in the present sects. It has also been guided in the Holy Hadith that “If you disagree, then do it for you with the highest reward.” When you see differences, you must hold the largest group.

(Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Fitna, Bab al-Sawad al-Azam, 1/2, Hadith: 1)

Disagreement in this narration refers to the difference of principle in which the difference between "disbelief and faith" and "guidance and misguidance" can be found. امَْتِي رَحْمَۃٌ “The (partial) difference of my ummah is mercy.

(Kinz al-Amal, Kitab al-Ilm, Qasm al-Aqwal, 1/2, Hadith: 2, Part 10

With this detail in mind, look for the major sects in the existing Islamic sects that do not differ from each other in principle, and the greater the number of Islamic sects that disagree with it in principle, the greater of them all. You will not find anyone except Ahl as-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah which includes Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali, Qadri, Chishti, Suhrawardi, Naqshbandi, Ash'ari, Matridi. There is a difference between disbelief and faith or guidance and misguidance.
