HOW TO AIR FRY BURRITOS

  1. Lay a tortilla down on a flat surface. 

  2. Layer toppings in the center of the tortilla.

  3. Roll the burrito closed, and place it seam-side down in the air fryer basket.

  4. Air fry for 5 minutes at 375 degrees F / 190 degrees C until hot on the inside and lightly browned.

  5. Remove and serve immediately with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or cheese dip.  

PRO TIPS 

  • Microwave the tortillas or heat them in a dry skillet to make them more pliable and easier to fold once they have been filled. 

  • For easy prep, combine all your favorite toppings in a large bowl.

  • Make sure not to overfill the tortilla or the burrito may fall apart and the filling may ooze out. 

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Arrange burritos with plenty of space between each burrito, so they brown evenly and get crispy all over. 

  • Add hot sauce to make your burrito spicy. 

  • Want a softer burrito? Wrap the burrito in aluminum foil before air frying for a soft tortilla. 

  • For an extra crispy, chimichanga-like burrito, spray it with cooking oil before air frying.

PREP AND STORAGE

  • Prep Ahead – Prep all of the filling options in advance. 

  • Store – I recommend storing the fillings in the fridge and rolling a fresh burrito just before air frying. Otherwise, the tortilla can dry out or become soggy. 

  • Freeze – Fill and roll the burritos and wrap them individually before freezing for up to 3 months. You can then thaw overnight in the fridge and cook as directed, or cook from frozen by adding a few minutes to the cooking time. 

  • Reheat – Reheat burritos in the air fryer for just a few minutes.
