Hello friends after a short break...I'll try to be a little more active...Today we will write about the loneliest house...

Photographs of the mysterious loneliest house in the world, a small white house on the side of a green hill, on the small, deserted island of Elliðaey, surrounded by the ocean. For years, various stories and legends have been circulating on the Internet, bringing a mysterious story of where the house came from?

But even that dilemma has been resolved ... now ...

The Vestmannaeijar archipelago consists of a set of small islands off the southern coast of Iceland. Elliðaey (or Ellirey) is the northeast of these islands and is home to the cult “loneliest house” perched alone on a grassy, sloping pasture.

Mysterious theories have emerged about how and why a small white house was built. According to one legend, the house was built by a billionaire who planned to move to a remote island in the event of an apocalypse in which zombies would appear on Earth.

It is an idyllic place that has remained uninhabited since the 1930s, which only makes the existence of this seemingly well-maintained man-made building even more astonishing.

Even the Icelandic singer Bjork was rumored at one point to be the owner of the island's retreat and was even in negotiations with the authorities to buy the island. There were even those who claimed that the house did not exist at all, but photos that spread on social networks are proving the opposite.

None of the above theories (legends) proved to be correct. The real story of the loneliest house in the world is not worth such conspiracy theories.

It is actually just a hunting lodge built by the Elliðaei Hunting Association in the 1950s, whose members use it when they come to a desert island to hunt puffins. It is unclear how the island has a hunting association at all, considering that no one lives there, but it is obvious that this is the (legal and construction) situation.

Interestingly, one small family actually lived on Elliðaey Island until the 1930s, when they finally decided to move to more populated regions of Iceland, in search of better opportunities.

However, they knew what they were leaving behind - an abundance of Atlantic puffins and fish - so they occasionally returned to the island to hunt. Maybe that's how the hunting association started.

Although the Elliðaey hunting lodge still maintains the island’s hunting association in good condition, it is still not the most comfortable house in the world. Living in the middle of nowhere has no benefits, but electricity, running water or indoor plumbing are definitely not among them. However, it has a sauna that is powered by a rainwater collection system, and even a fence around it, which is just weird, considering that no one lives there, but ... there is also a fence

Since the island of Elliðay is listed as a nature reserve and protected area, but it does not seem to prevent members of the hunting association Elliðaei from coming and, well, hunting birds.

However, if you just want to admire the natural beauty of this place, tourist companies operating in the Vestmannaejar archipelago offer day trips to several of these deserted islands.

Thank you for reading my article ... I hope that you enjoyed ...

I send you a big greetings!

This house on a desert island looks unreal. I would like to be alone sometimes but for a short time, just a few days. Laptop, thermos coffee, a couple of sandwiches and cigars .... nothing more is needed ... LOL
