"Hossie are you torturing me?" I asked more scared than surprised.
"Pearl" he started, "It's so obvious that you still haven't gotten over Jide and you're only using me as a cover up to soothe your emotional grief, but Pearl, you're really needed right now. I know you don't believe that you're useful but what you carry is demanded of you" he continued, "and that's why I had to come in this manner to show you how important it is that you manifest and there's no excuse this time" he ended finally.
All these while, I've been on the ground shivering. I couldn't speak, I was so scared because I had never seen Hossie on that manner. He had always been calm and all over me. But I guess I had to see him this way to make it feel as important as it is.
As my friends walked out of the doctor's office all they could think about was the possibility of my survival and am sure the presence of the baby even after everything.
As far as they knew, I wasn't really into the whole Christian, Church or God thing. But I am pretty sure that it was at that point that May decided to follow me up and make me come to the full knowledge of He Who made me.
