Pebbles In Our Heart

If we journey up north, say Maiduguri, Yobe or Kaduna you'll hear about the slaughter of humans as though they were rather rams for Salah or chickens for Christmas by the boko haram set .

If you then descend to the middle belt axis, say Benue. Reports of the rampage of herdsmen, the killings of farmers in their own farm just for protecting their rights, and how cows are in turned treated as gods are confirmed.

Then, prevalent in the south; cases of rape, kidnap, homicide, human rituals performed either for tradition sake or wealth acquisition. The daily news prints could proof this fact.

What bothers me is that members of the boko haram set are humans, the herdsmen are humans not spirits, ritualism and the rest of this havoc are perpetrated by humans.

What worsening can the heart of man do?

If they could slaughter like race, like tribe, a neighbor, a brother, pregnant women and their children without a tear or prick from conscience then, no heart is tamed enough.

The culprits, accomplices, murderers, sponsors of this decay are men like us. men highly ranked by the society; Pastors, Imams, leaders, common men that still own the right to makes choices.

For when they began, they never envisage reaching this stage. For darkness is like a bad worm that continues until the targets holds no more.

The bible said "The heart of man desperately wicked".. wickedness that broods desperately.

If king David: the man God picked by himself, could slaughter a man and take his wife then, search your heart. You might find pebbles in there. Pebbles you never laid, pebbles from no where.

Anything is possible to a Man's heart..

The preacher can become ritualistic.

The Christian sister can become a prostitute.

The good man can become abusive.

The submissive wife a demon.

The Imam a drunk.

Do not be quick to judge. But daily search your heart. For by so doing, you might come across pebbles: pebbles you did not lay.
