Hundred Tens and Unit
The subject "numeric" comes with its challenges, for a child just beginning the schooling race.
Then we use to chop sticks in large numbers or use bottle tops(canters) for our home work.
Our teacher/parent would yell " How many sticks are those?" Just to ascertain our answer before responding, we would begin a fresh counting "one, two, three.... FIVE," then came forth our yet uncertain response " Five".
No matter how difficult it was for us, they kept at it; sometimes with the threat of a long cane. This is because they understood, that numeric is the very basics of all arithmetic.
Unit is the basic for counting
Atom the basic of compound
Cell the basic of life
Second the basic for time
AN HOUR the basic for PRAYER
I'm not saying that praying less than an hour isn't effectual, but that you ought at least spend an hour with God each day!
It is unfair that we spend time carelessly, either through unfruitful discussion, watching unhealthy videos on social media or sleeping. But when it comes to prayer, it becomes a matter of combat!
In Jesus' words to Peter in the garden of Gethsemane..."And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour?(Matt 26:40).
One hour at least was what our Lord expected of his disciples, but they gave in to slumber.
Why is that you don't feel sleepy while seeing a video or seeing a movie, but when it comes to prayer, the weight of slumber descends on you.
Anything of value on this earth, is most time hidden in pain or struggles.
Be deliberate about your prayer life, your word life. As it prepares you to face the world.
It is not possible to survive as a christian without prayers. Here your weaknesses are laid upon his feet and you align to the rada of the Holy ghost per time.
A man who prays understands how insufficient and frail man is. So in prayers, he cast his anchor upon his Lord.
A man who prays, understand that life is a unit compared to eternity, and the best he needs, is to seek to execute the purposes of God.
Just one hour dedicated to Lord is not too much to ask!
