A Scholar's fate

School grades is one thing every student gets to deal with. It either sets you hyper and in need for more (better) or just lives you complacent as some people say ("I can't kill myself"). A statement you really wouldn't want to make especially before your sponsors.

A lot of us, found out rather late the consequence of each report sheet brought home at the end of the term. It began to settle in when we noticed the concept of class A, B and C as each class was a direct response to your report sheet, smart, average or dumb. A system that is based on one's ability to memorize and give back. Something not everyone is cool with.

In as much as we loved school for the fun of meeting our peers, we also never really wanted to be left out of the school vibe. It was tough, but rewarding at the end.

Go to school, study hard, get good grades and get a job.

Fine, we could work with that. (Not until we were told that going to school doesn't really guarantee you a job these days). Sounds to me like a fraud.

Somehow, we get to College the one place where you decide "oh I love animals, I want to be a Vet doctor". But you find out that isn't the deal, you're asked to do a whole lot of unrelated stuff. So boring. You come less in contact with the animals and more conversant with how to get good grades and you just want to graduate, probably out there, in the "real world", there are real animals to work with.

And if you haven't noticed, most of us begin learning outside the walls of school, especially because you find meaningful exposure and experience and begin a journey of discovery of where you'd love to be and what you'd love to do

.

Funnily, at some point, A, B and C students are at the same level all searching. "oh... yea". Because the grades don't really speak so much of your capabilities. It doesn't tell if you are a good team leader or how you work under pressure. It just says hey you mastered the art of cram de la pour. Okay maybe that's not completely true but the idea is. You still need work experience

Just a minute!, before we throw the baby away with bath water, saying "school na scam" let's not forget that education will forever remain a medium to enhance individual prowess towards productivity. So I guess that we should think about a solution. An article "The kids are right, School is boring " states the need to invest in technology and digital skills as an aid to improve the learning experience. Other writers of like opinion also state that education will take a turn as examination will not be students cramming and forgetting the next day but about self paced learning on the work field and much more.

So here's the deal, Educationists or people who are passionate about change and innovation need to strategize Innovatively to improve our school vibe because it should be much more than grades but productivity and fun!.
