Good Day Everyone!

Supposedly, I have class today but our teacher announced earlier that he has important matter to deal. So, as a result I have free time to write article today.

===============================

Facebook Initiative:

Yesterday, October 06,2020 I received notification in my personal email and also in my Facebook account stating that I can submit my application for financial grants initiated by Facebook.

Why I received this notification?

  • I received this notification maybe because I have Facebook Page a Personal Blog but not a Business Page. But I'm planning to categorize it as Business but not now.

Why Facebook Initiated such Program?

Facebook knows that the pandemic caused by Covid-19, affects thousands of small business around the world. Small Business are one of the most affected sector in our community because of the pandemic. Owners have no choice but to close their business and stop operating to abide by the governments order. Because of such development, many have lost their job. Facebook knows this problem experienced by small business owners that's why they introduced a program that will provide financial grants to those businesses that are qualified.

From Facebook:

We know that your business may experiencing disruptions resulting from the global outbreak of Covid-19. We have heard that a little financial support can go a long way, so we are offering USD 100 Million in cash grants and ad credits to help during this challenging time.

===============================

I'm very happy that Facebook Initiated this kind of Program to help the Small Business Owner. But why Facebook help them? It's because if you don't know yet All Facebook pages either it's an business page or not generate Revenue for them. How? If a Facebook page boost their post they pay for it. Why they boost their post? Boosting their post reach more Facebook users resulting to possible more sales for businesses that have online store in facebook.

===============================

How the Program can Help?

  • Keep your workforce going strong

  • Help with rental and operational costs

  • Connect with more costumers- through Facebook Ad credit

  • Support your community

Is my Business Eligible?

Up to 30,000 small businesses in more than 30 countries will be able to receive a grant from Facebook. To be eligible to apply, your business must:

  • Have between 2 and 50 employees

  • Have been in business for over a year

  • Have experienced challenges due to Covid-19

  • Be in or near a location where Facebook operates.

To check if your area is eligible, or to sign up for email updates when application open, see how to apply below.

Application Process:

Your business is location will determine when you can apply Currently, businesses located in NYC, Seattle, and the San Francisco Bay Area can apply, and all other eligible cities can submit their applications on April 22nd.  There is a two-week window to apply prior to the application deadline. From there, Facebook says they’ll take a few weeks to review applications prior to selecting the recipients.

Because of this projected timeline, if your business requires more immediate financing, you may want to weigh other options to find faster financing. However, because this grant won’t need to be repaid, it can be beneficial to have during this time.

Once you begin your application, you’ll need to provide your contact information, a description of your business, and your intended use of funds. You’ll also need to submit at least of these documents:

If you have Facebook Page for your small business you can try to inquire or apply to receive financial grants from Facebook. Just remember or review the requirements by Facebook for you to be eligible to receive money and Ad credit in such program.

===============================

Unfortunately for me, my Facebook page is not yet Facebook page for Business. But they also offer Ad credit for free to boost my post but they required me to link my bank accounts or PayPal account to receive the Ad credit for free. They will not charge me because as I said it is free.

That's all my friends, I hope you learned something from this article of mine.

Thanks for Reading!

For some reason we tend to appreciate what they do but we must not forget that it was their responsibility to help community. They have social responsibility to every nation or countrt that Facebook operates.

Indeed unprecedented and good action from Facebook. Hopefully many big businesses will follow and help also by sharing their profits not just to small business owners but also to those who suffer the most from this pandemic especially the poor.

You raised a good point my friend. Facebook must remember that the revenue or most of their income are came from Ads that are seen by Facebook users thus, Facebook also help those users who are I'm sure also affected by this pandemic not just businesses.

Exactly my friend. The most affected sector is not the business for sure but also those ordinary people who directly experienced challenges due to this pandemic.

But I think they will not grant financial grants for those ordinary people. They prioritize the small business sector to operate again that could possibly give job and employment to other people.
