The Thai Courts Authority announced the development of a blockchain-based platform for storing court documents. The system will be launched in 2021.
The Thai Courts Authority, which controls 91% of Thai courts, said it is “actively developing” a blockchain-based platform. There are few details about the project and it is not completely clear whether the government is developing the platform in cooperation with the private sector or not.
According to the press release, the internal network should be used to store court documents and other court data. According to the Office, the launch of the system will take place next year and the government is now preparing to launch training on the platform for the judiciary.
Note that several Chinese courts have already moved some of the data to the blockchain. As recently as last spring, it was reported that China's internet courts were using blockchain and AI to rule, and this year, Chinese courts began using blockchain to seal real estate.
