Figment Networks has launched the Data Hub, a service that simplifies Web 3.0 protocol development, including Tezos, Cosmos, and Coda. It allows you to access the blockchain without starting your own node.

The Data Hub will allow developers to access some blockchains without having to run their own nodes, which can be difficult and expensive. The goal of Figment Networks is to simplify development on various blockchains. If the service is successful, the activity of developers can grow, which will open access to new products and services Web 3.0.

“The Data Hub will streamline Web 3.0 application development,” said Clayton Menzel, marketing and communications manager for Figment Networks. “There are many entry barriers to Web 3 development that are not present in Web 2.0. The Data Hub will remove these barriers, making Web 3.0 development as easy as Web 2.0. We expect the Data Hub to bring in a new development team in Web 3.0. ”

Web 3.0 is the successor to the existing Internet, the third generation of services and applications for the entire cyberspace. Web 3.0 developers promise the Internet without intermediaries, with increased privacy and user control over personal data.

But the evolution of the Internet has its problems. Development in Web 3.0 requires the constant launch and maintenance of nodes to access the desired network. Figment Networks wants to promote the implementation and usability of Web 3.0 by providing a complete infrastructure.

Positioned as a "gateway to Web 3.0", the Data Hub allows developers to bypass the barriers to entry into the development, providing access to the internal nodes of Figment Networks. The service is similar to the solution offered by Infura, a platform that provides infrastructure for scaling decentralized applications, which also provides node infrastructures that process billions of requests per day.

However, the Data Hub plans to bring together developers of a much wider range of blockchains, including Tezos, Cosmos, Celo, Coda, Filecoin (not yet launched) and AVA.

“Infura focuses on Ethereum and IPFS,” Menzel said. “We hope our product helps scale the networks we support, just like Ethereum.”

The Data Hub facilitates direct access to multiple APIs, allowing developers to efficiently interact with many compatible Web 3.0 protocols.

Recall that in May Torus Labs released the DirectAuth tool for entering decentralized applications on any blockchain. According to the company, the new Torus product makes dApp login as easy as email access, and becomes a real “bridge” between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.

Blockstack previously patented a single sign-on mechanism for all dApp systems - Blockstack Auth, which aims to become a single digital identity system for all Web 3.0 applications.
