On Climate Politics

The Climate Crisis / Climate Change narrative is plain old fearmongering by the carbon fuel industry as well as governmental and mainstream media opportunism.

When we look at the energy landscape we see a huge industry of hydrocarbon based fuels: coal, oil and natural gas. Key stakeholders in this industry have unprecedented amounts of capital and power. Realistically speaking, they would like to remain in that position. But. They have one big elephant in the room, and that is modern generations of nuclear power plants. Now, what would be the best strategy to keep nuclear at bay and get as much money for as long as possible out of carbon based fuel sources?

Enter climate crisis and the push for renewable energy, mainly solar and wind. Knowing very well those are not the solution to our energy needs. It is simply impossible to match and replace current energy production with the renewables that are being pushed. Effectively prolonging our dependence on fossil carbon based fuel. Perpetually lining the pockets of the main players in this industry who are successfully keeping competition at bay through regulatory capture, governmental coercion and opportunistic fear mongering.

Mainstream media is not structured nor motivated to disseminate factually correct information to the masses. No. They are motivated to capture your attention for as long as possible since that brings in ad revenue. What is the best way to capture peoples attention? Fear! So naturally mainstream media goes along with spreading misinformation, as this makes them the most money.

The same goes for government, they obviously see this “crisis” as the perfect opportunity to raise taxes without much push back from their citizens. People who are scared and forgot how to take matters into their own hands now look to government to fix this, thus allowing to be coerced into paying more taxes and willingly coercing people who do not agree.

In the mean while we are not fixing the root causes of the problems we are facing. Everyone goes along in the polarizing debate of climate crisis vs climate sceptics, not realizing this is a plain old divide and conquer strategy keeping the real solutions in the dark. All the while looking at government for a solution, but they have none to offer. Government is inherently reactionary, they will not innovate.

By now we know centrally planned economies and countries don’t work. We’ve seen enough communist and socialist states fail. We’ve seen enough crony capitalistic states make a mess of the world. These forms of government and economies are simply not robust and resilient enough and often lack the insight or motivation to make the right decisions. No competition means there is no market to find the most efficient solutions.

If we really want to solve the environmental issues we face. If we actually want to make the world a cleaner, healthier and better place with more prosperity and freedom for all. Then we need to build culture. A culture of entrepreneurship, a culture of rational scientific discourse, a culture of self ownership, a culture of freedom.

But no worries, we can fix it. We need to level the playing field. For that to happen we need to drastically cut back on taxation. Scrap a bunch of laws and regulations. Take away power from the government and replace it with freedom. Freedom to innovate, freedom of association, freedom to cooperate, freedom to do things the government hasn’t even thought about, freedom to grow a pair. Permissionless innovation and business. Truly free markets.

Once you realize all this, you will see it all around you.

</end rant>

Have a nice day!

This is a really cool article! However it seems that something is wrong with the wallet generation on your computer, so we can't upvote you. Are you blocking JavaScript or some connections? Do you see a red banner at the top saying something about connectivity problems?
