This deserves an article!

One of the largest employer in the Philippines is CONCENTRIX.

When pandemic hit the country CNX made arrangements so employees can continue to earn and be productive such as:

WALK/COMMUTE TO WORK:

This is when the employees who lives few kilometers away from the office that are not on lockdown belongs.

STAY ON-SITE:

With the aim to continue the work force despite the pandemic the employees were given the privilege to stay on site where they are given a place to sleep with bed, pillows and blankets.

And oh wait there's more!

Those that are working on site are given FREE MEALS! YES! If I remembered it right it lasted for a couple of months.

Imagine how much an employee could SAVE especially that fast foods were close by that time. CNX provided for it's employees.

The Comfort Rooms were converted into shower rooms. Very flexible for doing such in just a snap!

STAY NEAR SITE:

As the pandemic got worst in Philippines this option then was made available. CNX did not hesitate to have their employees stay in a hotel be it a 5 STAR one just to make sure they are safe and would still earn for a living. ALL EXPENSE PAID BY THE COMPANY!

While we thank the government for doing their best and give out sacks of rice and canned goods to everyone but it will never be enough. Where can we get money to pay for our electricity bills? Water bills? And other basic needs? We have to continue hustling because we do not have anyone to depend to for our children's milk, diapers, and other needs.

Lastly, WORK AT HOME:

As the pandemic continues to burden more people and the cases arises making CEBU, Philippines as the hotspot of Covid19 Virus employees are advised to take the WAH set up.

The transition was never easy and it took a lot of energy and money from both the firm and the employees.

The company was the one who provided both the equipment and internet connection. Speaking of the equipment, the employees were mostly given brand new and updated ones so it will work properly with the WAH setup. Instead of getting another expenses paying for internet bill, the firm shouldered it. Employees can enjoy working at home without worrying about their safety!

Converting our home to office is never easy. We also had to invest on making sure that there will be a specific area at home where our kids cannot just barged in and messed up. But we were able to get through!

Amit Jagga SVP and Country Leader of Concentrix Philippines was interviewed by CNN Philippines to ask regarding his stand about the Governments mandate to have ALL EMPLOYEES go BACK ONSITE:

He said ( just the thought but not in exact words ) 46 sites of CNX registered under PEZA and it is becoming tough but his staffs wants to stay at home. Concentrix will still push through with Hybrid working arrangement even when things are opening up. He also mentioned that CNX is willing to LOSE the TAX INCENTIVES but is still hoping that their proposal will be heard. He is also projecting 60:40 where 60% can continue working at home while 40% can work onsite especially those that are not comfortable anymore working on their homes.


...end thoughts...

For a mom like me working in the industry for almost 8 years having the challenges with commuting and giving time for my family because of the flexible working schedule that I have working from home has been very helpful for me so I can still take good care of my children and give time for my family.

One of the reasons why we are having broken family is because of the lack of time as both parents are busy hustling, compared to the working onsite taking 3 hrs preparation and travel before shift we could only sit on our desk 1hr -30 mins to prepare for our station and be ready for work. That 1-2 hours matters much for my children.

This can also benefit our HEALTH, since we are just at home we can take sometime to rest and when we finish working we can lay down to bed right away. In addition to that, when it comes to the food we eat,we now have little to no fast food consumption which also contributes in saving plus we are sure that it is clean and healthy.

Moreover, when it comes to finances, we are still trying to get back up from what we lose both from Pandemic and Typhoon Odette, getting much expenses travelling won't be a good option.

Hopefully, the Government can still see the sense of approving HYBRID WORK SETUP or Work at Home.

That 1000 pesos to 2000 pesos we allocate for our allowance for 15 days working in the office both for commute fare and food is instead use for my family's daily needs or consumption. Especially that my sister is about to enter College. It would be a great SAVINGS. So dear Government hear us out or better yet find a better way for us to adjust. Please do not simply say RESIGN because surely no one will help us when we are unemployed. No one will shoulder our bills and responsibilities.

Oo nga madam eh... Only that the government is pushing them too much without consideration... If you could try to watch the video ... I see no empathy on stating na pwede naman dw mag resign πŸ˜…
