My fall and Rise Hello readstars! good evening from here and happy weekend. This Friday reminds me a lot of what happened to me a year ago. A funny experience but doesn't really seem so funny though. I learnt my lesson as I have always boasted I could do what I saw others do, what everyone else was doing with ease. That day I was shocked a bit to know that it not just about talking alone: it involves doing what is being said about. This is my story. `hi guys.. check out my sweetheart sponsors` School was on holidays and I travelled to stay with my uncle and his family afar. It was really nice and a good idea for me as got more exposure to the city. We lived happily together and shared things and idea in common. My uncle owns a car and a motorbike. Everyone knows how to move them except me and the last child. So because of that, they made a diss of me and her. Anytime the argument, I would always try to defend myself by telling them that I can move a motorbike. No one believed me even as I try to prove myself, they wouldn't give me the keys. Me seeing people riding a car or a bike, I have always imagined that it a simple skill and one of the easiest thing to do. I had always thought that I need no driving lesson to move a motorbike. What a brave idea of mine that only lives in my head. This diss continued for a while and even when I asked my elderly cousins to teach me how to ride a car, they would always get busy with schedule and had made bags of promises. Well I kept to that and still believed in my memory. I knew that someday, sooner or later, I would move a ride. And until then, they will believe in what I can do. Some day, I was alone with the last born of the house. Grandma who lives with us needed to buy something from the market. Luckily for her, the bike was free but there was no one to the the ride and go to the market. So she quickly called on me as I was the only option for the errand I was happy in myself at first, I took some shower and got ready for market. As I got ready, my uncle came back at the same time. He decided that since I have gotten ready and prepared that maybe I should take the bike and go to the store. Without hesitation and excitement, I hurried to make my first ride. I pictured and memories all the explanations I have been given before and hopped on the back. Ready to go, I kicked the bike on and got set to go. Dear readers after few seconds I got on the bike and kicked it in, i saw myself struggling with the bike on the floor just in ten meters away. My uncle who just came back rushed to my rescue. Tough luck for me he was around. Damn! I felt like what!? me? oh my Gosh! how did this ever happened. I really couldn't believe myself indeed. The last born was standing at the corner laughing uncontrollably. The whole scene remains fresh in my memory till now. After I was helped to get up, I quickly cleaned myself and took some pain relievers. Thank God I had no fracture or a broken skin. Though I was left with pains in some parts of me . I acted as though I was cool and fine for some hours until evening after dinner. I realized that I had paint on my hip and all over. That night, I was taken to the hospital for some x-ray.. thank God it was only pains and I was treated.
After a week of this incredible experience, I got healed and set with more confidence to learn how to move a bike. I was just thought once on how to do that with ease and I immediately grabbed the lesson and moved the big bike that once fell a big girl. It was a victory to me and a story to tell. Since then, I call myself my hero. I became an expert and thought my last born how to ride too. She also had a similar experience on her first time but luck for her, I was there for her. She just bruised her knee alone and wasn't a major injury unlike me.
This is the end of my story and I feel like a warrior recounting my experiences. It was that holiday moment that I added to my skills as a bike rider. Since everyone was busy and I was alone with last born, we had all the time to ride till infinity. We became perfect and thought two of our friends how to ride. What a master class coach I had become till today. Even when I traveled back home, they knew I never rode before but I gave them a shocking surprise when they saw me move the bike the first time. I saw, I believed and I conquered. This is what today reminds me of. Thanks for reading and I wish you all a happy weekend ❣️ Copyright@ Gianna-B, 2022 and all rights reserved. `Image credit: all pictures from unsplash.com`
