My Weekend and Absence What's going on everyone? Hope we are having this lovely Sunday peacefully. This second Sunday is a significant one to me. I just made it back successfully from traveling. I really missed reading on this platform and I am happy I'm getting back to it again since weekend. In this part of my country, taking a night bus while travelling is seen as risky and dangerous. The fear of kidnappers and bad roads and happenings of the night. This happens to be a place associated with social vices and bad records on travellers. The majority have sworn never to take a night bus no matter what. People have chosen to be careful with their movement at night rather than risk their life in the name of a night bus. Last weekend, I travelled with my cousin sis to an aunt's place to spend the weekend. I never knew I would leave all my plans for my weekend to spend it somewhere else but that was still a good one though. Our aunt lives in a far place, probably at another state and we had to spend all day on a bus travelling to her place. Because of the urgency to spend the weekend with her, she had suggested we start coming on Thursday night with the night bus but that was a bad idea to us. Things have been happening and there have been news about kidnappers, armed robbery which all happens at night. We wouldn't want to risk it and stayed back till early Friday morning when we took a bus to her place. While on the road.. Traveling by road can be so boring here. A journey of six hours could take a whole day. Bad roads and traffic congestion made me sit down in a bus for nine hours on a journey which is supposed to be three hours. At a point, I was wondering what made me get myself into traveling in the first place. The worst happened when we had to wait at a spot for more than thirty minutes before moving again. My cousin and I and other passengers were so angry but couldn't do anything to help it. We had to wait patiently out of patience for nine hours just to complete a journey of three hours. It wasn't a funny experience. Bad roads on the other hand makes me wonder what the government has been doing with our money. Right in my state, no one can boast of a standard asphalt road. They all know how to campaign, making big and unfulfilled promises to the people. Portholes and cracks delayed our journey for almost two hours. While on the road, I saw a number of spoiled cars including the ones carrying goods. Some of them broke down at a road bend trying to curve while dodging portholes. Some of these broken vehicles are the cause of traffic congestion. They fall and occupy some portion of the roads causing slow movement. Reaching our destination It wasn't funny all through till we reached at our aunt's place. She has been calling us since morning to know about us but thank goodness we made it successful at last. That was my first time sitting on a spot for nine hours. Our stay was fun and memories, we had good times and played together till we left early in the morning today. It was a very short stay but means so much to her and us as well. I was so happy to see her for the second time this year. It feels so good to have a day with your fams especially when they live far away from home. My only worries were no strong internet and no steady electricity but we enjoyed everything else. The local and tribal food we ate fit the first time was a good memory. That was my weekend and I am very much happy how it was spent. Back to read cash again outs more smile to my face. Thank you for your reading and have a happy Sunday `@Gianna-B` `Lead image taken from unsplash.com`
