In order to motivate myself to walk more, I have been using walking apps like Pokemon Go and Sweatcoin, it is in my research I have heard about COIN. Created in 2019, this is a mobile app that rewards it´s users for validating geospatial location data.
You do it by simply walking, biking, driving, or just basically move around. Here´s how it works, you open the app ( make sure your GPS and internet are turned on) and click on the pickaxe manually in order to start geo mining. You can also auto collect.
Each location block will give you a certain amount of coins which is the app's currency, but after reviewing them you will to wait a couple of minutes for it to activate, or if you´re impatient you can also play a mini-game to get coins again. But, you´re better off just continue walking to the next block.
Other ways to earn include watching ads, claim remote geomines, airdrops, or claim. Now, this last part is interesting, as it allows to claim a block by buying a share of it, you will earn anytime another user passes through the block, the more shares you buy the more you earn, the earnings will then reset next week, so you will have to buy them again.
But what if you´re in an area that it´s still on lockdown? Well, no problem, you can still earn, the app actually allows you to earn passively when your app is turned off, you can also get rewarded by holding your coins once a day.
After acquiring enough coins what can you do with them? Well, can send them as an airdrop to other users. You can also exchange them for crypto assets, like XYO ( an ERC-20 token), ethereum, or bitcoin. If crypto isn´t your thing, you can use it to buy game consoles (they have an X-box and Playstation currently) or even Merchandise.
