According to the World News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoانan has inaugurated the first driverless electric bus of local company Carson Atak Electric. Top officials and foreign diplomats, including the Turkish president, also attended the driverless electric bus ceremony.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan also traveled by bus with his team and praised the bus. Following the successful experiment, Carson will now begin mass production of the bus.

The details on the website of Carson, the company that built the first driverless electric bus, show that the BMW's 220 kWh batteries allow the bus to travel up to 300 km without interruption.

According to the company, the 27-foot-long bus has a seating capacity of 50 passengers, while the battery can be charged via AC in 5 hours or DC in 3 hours.

Details about the time and price of the passenger bus arriving on the roads have not been provided.

It should be noted that another Turkish automobile company Autocar also tested an autonomous electric bus last month, while an electric car was also successfully tested a year ago.
