Don't you just love the drama football brings?
BRIGHTON v. UNITED
The Red Devils were fortunate to leave the South Coast with maximum points in a game they were poor all round. How on earth did Brighton not take something from this game. The Seagulls were better in every department, and United were grateful to the wood work and cross bar for sparing their blushes. One bright spot for United was that they were clinical in the final third. They weathered the storm and got the job done. All thanks in no small measure to VAR. It was the correct decision and Maupay was gutted for such a costly mistake.
WEST BROM v. CHELSEA
It was a game of two halves. The Blues were shambolic defensively. New faces, same problem. First, Alonso and James are culpable for Robinson's opener. Second, the experienced Silva did a Gerrard by wrongly controlling the ball, allowing Robinson to get his brace. Third, I wonder how James became unaware of the blindside where Bartley was. This is one mistake two many, and you cannot challenge the top two with these errors. The Blues should be grateful that the Baggies ran out of steam and they pounced to take a point in a game they should have comfortably won. Lampard is a concerned man as the team drops five points from nine.
REAL BETIS v. REAL MADRID
If you must win La Liga, the Benito Villamarin is one venue to take points. Madrid were in Seville for the second match of the season. Although the game was not particularly enthralling, the visitors did what made them Champions the Last term. Of course, Los Blancos knew that the Balompie side would be no pushovers, and the feisty with reckless cards brandished for both teams, and Emerson was unlucky to be sent off. The game was concluded by a delicate panenka from Sergio Ramos as Real were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes.
I'm a big spectator in the football industry, and am getting joy from the hypes around football happenings these days, am impressed.
